Porygon has been chosen as the featured Pokémon for September Community Day.

Evolve Porygon2 (the evolved form of Porygon) to get Porygon-Z that know the Normal-type attack Tri Attack. This attack will be new to Pokémon GO and, when used, will have a chance of decreasing the opposing Pokémon’s Attack and Defense.

Leading up to and during September Community Day, be on the lookout for the following opportunities to earn the items needed to evolve Porygon and Porygon2.

  • During the Mega Battle Challenge event week from Friday, September 11, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. to Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 10:00 p.m. local time, all Trainers can earn an Upgrade and a Sinnoh Stone by completing the event’s Timed Research.
  • On September 20, all Trainers can earn up to three Upgrades and three Sinnoh Stones by completing Timed Research tasks.
  • Trainers who purchase a ticket for the September Community Day–exclusive Special Research story, Decoding Porygon, can earn an Upgrade and a Sinnoh Stone by completing that Special Research.

Exclusive Move - During Community Day (plus two hours after) Porygon evolved to Porygon-Z will learn Tri Attack when evolved.

You cannot use non-elite TMs to learn Exclusive Moves.

Exclusive Special Research Story - For USD $0.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency), you can unlock a Community Day-exclusive Special Research story—Decoding Porygon!

Photobomb During the event you can snap an AR Photo and get photobombed by Porygon.

Community Day Box A bundle containing an Elite Fast TM, 30 Ultra Balls, 6 Lucky Eggs, and 3 Incense for 1280 PokéCoins will be available.

Shiny

Shiny Porygon will be available for the first time during this Community Day.
