Features

Volcanion makes its inaugural appearance in Pokémon GO!

Who goes there? It’s Volcanion! For the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be able to encounter the elusive Steam Pokémon.

Ticket-holding Trainers will be able to complete exclusive Special Research to learn more about the Steam Pokémon—and have an opportunity to encounter it!

Ticket-holding Trainers will only encounter Volcanion once no matter how many Pokémon GO Fest 2025 Special Research stories they acquire and complete. If you obtain more than one Special Research story that leads to Volcanion by attending multiple GO Fest events, all of the Special Research stories after the first one will award Volcanion Candy instead of an additional encounter with Volcanion.

Get excited for Shiny Pokémon debuts!

Trainers may encounter Shiny Carbink and Shiny Frigibax during GO Fest 2025 in-person events—if they’re lucky! Don’t let the pressure get to you—the Jewel Pokémon Carbink will appear in the Sunken Treasure habitat at in-person GO Fest events.

And stay cool! The Ice Fin Pokémon Frigibax will appear in the Carnival Grounds habitat at in-person GO Fest events.

  • Carbink
  • Frigibax
  • Arctibax
  • Baxcalibur

Early Access to Crowned Shield and Crowned Sword Forms

Ticket holders for 2025’s in-person Pokémon GO Fest events will get the first chance to discover Zacian and Zamazenta’s different forms in Pokémon GO!

Hawlucha

Hawlucha—usually found only in Mexico and areas near the Mexico–United States border—will make a special appearance in each habitat at all in-person GO Fest events.

GO Snapshots

Take some snapshots while you explore the park for a cooling surprise!

Fan Rotom may appear in snapshots as a surprise encounter during in-person Pokémon GO Fest events.

Trainers can get up to three event-themed GO Snapshot surprise encounters per ticketed event day, including Citywide Gameplay add-on days.

Spawns

Event-themed Pokémon will appear in the wild!

Event-themed Pokémon will appear in unique habitats during the event! Also, for the first time in Pokémon GO, you’ll be able to encounter Shiny Carbink and Shiny Frigibax in the wild—if you’re lucky!

A map of the venue, including the habitat locations, will be available closer to the event.

Outside of Expo ‘70 Commemorative Park, Trainers playing throughout Osaka and Suita City during their ticketed event hours (including Trainers with a Citywide Gameplay add-on) can encounter wild Pokémon from all habitats.
