For the first time in Pokémon GO, Trainers will be able to encounter Shiny Diancie! Trainers who purchase a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global will receive Masterwork Research that leads to an encounter with Shiny Diancie.

Experience the World Premiere of New Music

Get ready for new pieces of featured music inspired by Pokémon X and Pokémon Y! This music was composed by Junichi Masuda, Pokémon video game series composer and Chief Creative Fellow of The Pokémon Company! You’ll be able to hear the new music while walking on the map, catching Pokémon, and taking on Xerneas and Yveltal in Raid Battles!

During Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global, ticket-holding Trainers will be able to pick between two Special Research paths: X Version and Y Version. The path you pick will determine certain rewards and bonuses!

In this branching Special Research, you’ll choose to pursue either the X Version medal or the Y Version medal. Trainers who complete their event Special Research will receive an encounter with a Xerneas that has a Special Background inspired by Pokémon X or an Yveltal that has a Special Background inspired by Pokémon Y, depending on the path chosen!

To get the most out of these bonuses, be sure to start the An X-ceptional Yarn Special Research as soon as it becomes available. This Special Research will be available beginning on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Trainers who choose the X Version path:

  • Receive Xerneas-themed Special Research rewards, including an encounter with a Xerneas* that has a Special Background inspired by Pokémon X.
  • Chance to receive event-themed Field Research tasks that reward encounters with Unown X*.

Trainers who choose the Y Version path:

  • Receive Yveltal-themed Special Research rewards, including an encounter with an Yveltal* that has a Special Background inspired by Pokémon Y.

All Trainers can take on these newly discovered Mega-Evolved Pokémon—plus Mega Dragonite—in Super Mega Raids during the epic global event!

During Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global, Trainers can take on Super Mega Raids with Mega Victreebel and Mega Dragonite on February 28, and Mega Malamar and Mega Dragonite on March 1, 2026!

Trainers who participate in raids during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global will have a chance of receiving new Special Backgrounds after making a successful catch. These souvenir backgrounds will appear on the Pokémon’s summary page, showing when the Pokémon was caught and commemorating your adventures during Pokémon GO Tour!

Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global will feature three Special Backgrounds for you to collect—one inspired by Pokémon X, one inspired by Pokémon Y, and one inspired by Mega Evolution!

  • Pikachu wearing Calem’s hat, Pikachu wearing Serena’s hat, Honedge, and Xerneas can have a background inspired by Pokémon X.

  • Pikachu wearing Calem’s hat, Pikachu wearing Serena’s hat, Honedge, and Yveltal can have a background inspired by Pokémon Y.

  • All Pokémon caught from Mega Raids can have a background inspired by Mega Evolution.

It’s time for a finale of mega proportions! After kicking off the adventures during the real-world Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos events in Tainan and Los Angeles, it’s time for Trainers around the world to band together. Through intense battles, exciting encounters, and breakthrough discoveries, can you uncover exciting new ways to understand and master Mega Evolution?

Trainers who attend the Tainan and Los Angeles events can also purchase the global event ticket and receive a different Special Research to complete during Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global.


Branching Special Research: X Version or Y Version

Ticket-holding Trainers can choose between two Special Research paths: X Version or Y Version. Complete the An X-ceptional Yarn Special Research to receive an encounter with either Xerneas (X Version) or Yveltal (Y Version), each with a Special Background inspired by their respective games. The path you choose also determines which Unown (X or Y) you’ll encounter from Field Research tasks. This Special Research will be available beginning on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time.


Take part in some trim-mendous Timed Research!

A new Timed Research experience will be available to ticket-holding Trainers, awarding encounters with Furfrou, the Poodle Pokémon!

Depending on your location, you’ll be able to select a trim and change Furfrou into that trim for the remainder of the event! Normally, Furfrou can only change its trim in certain areas around the world or during special events, so take this opportunity to try out a new look!

Follow these steps to change Furfrou’s trim:

  1. Find Furfrou in your Pokémon Storage, tap it to check its summary, and then tap the Change Form button to bring up a menu that lists the available trims.
  2. Select your preferred trim.

Changing your Furfrou from one trim to any other trim will cost 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.

Ticket-holding Trainers at the in-person Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos events in Los Angeles and Tainan will be able to get Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos–themed stickers from PokéStops and Gifts during event hours from Friday, February 20 through Sunday, February 22, 2026.

During Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos – Global on February 28 and March 1, 2026, all Trainers will be able to get Pokémon GO Tour: Kalos–themed stickers from PokéStops and Gifts between 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. local time daily. These stickers will also be available in the in-game shop from Friday, February 20, at 9:00 a.m. to Sunday, March 1, at 8:00 p.m. local time.
