For the brave, adventure awaits around every corner—are you ready to venture into the Wild Area?

Following in the footsteps of Pokémon GO Fest and Pokémon GO Tour, this brand new event is coming in November! Pokémon GO Wild Area 2024 will invite Trainers into an unexplored expanse populated by Electric- and Poison-type Pokémon—a place that just might be hiding encounters with some unusually powerful Pokémon…

Put your skills to the test and try to catch mighty Pokémon in the wild with your trusty Poké Balls—or use the new GO Safari Ball to improve your odds! Ticket-holding Trainers who set forth into this exciting new area will get to choose whether to focus on Electric- or Poison-type Pokémon as they take a deep dive into Toxtricity, the Punk Pokémon.

Trainers who purchase a Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global ticket by October 22—and play Pokémon GO between October 15 and October 22—will receive Timed Research that awards early access to a themed avatar item, the Toxel Mask.

Get ready for adventure in the GO Wild Area!

A new Poké Ball?!

Debuting globally during this event, GO Safari Balls are highly effective Poké Balls that make capturing Pokémon much easier. Try using one when encountering a mighty Pokémon!

All Trainers will receive a Timed Research task during the event that awards a small number of GO Safari Balls when completed. Additionally, you’ll have a chance to acquire GO Safari Balls when spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops during the event—if you’re lucky!

Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global ticket holders will receive one Timed Research task each hour during the event that awards additional GO Safari Balls. These tasks will expire one hour after they are issued, so all rewards must be claimed before then!

All unused GO Safari Balls will expire and disappear from your Item Bag at 6:15 p.m. local time each day of the event.

Stay tuned for more information.

GO Safari Ball: Extra Access Ticket

For US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you’ll receive event-exclusive hourly Timed Research*.

Want more GO Safari Balls? Trainers who purchase the GO Safari Ball: Extra Access ticket, available exclusively on the webstore, will receive one Timed Research task each hour during the event that awards four additional GO Safari Balls. These tasks will expire one hour after they are issued, so all rewards must be claimed before then!

All unused GO Safari Balls will expire and disappear from your Item Bag at 6:15 p.m. local time each day of the event. This ticket will be available for purchase from Monday, November 18, 2024, at 12:01 a.m. Japan Standard Time to Sunday, November 24, 2024, at 5:15 p.m. Japan Standard Time.

These Timed Research tasks can be added on top of the hourly Timed Research from the Pokémon GO: Wild Area Global ticket to maximize the number of GO Safari Balls you can obtain during the event.

Introducing mighty Pokémon!

This year’s Pokémon GO Wild Area will have plenty of Electric- and Poison-type Pokémon, but that’s not all! Trainers may also find themselves in encounters with unusually powerful opponents known as mighty Pokémon! All mighty Pokémon have some shared traits.

  • More likely to have high Attack, Defense, and HP ratings
  • More likely to be XL or XXL
  • More difficult to capture
  • Encounters will show “!!!” instead of CP

Trainers may even encounter Shiny versions of these mighty Pokémon, if they’re lucky! Using the new GO Safari Ball when trying to capture these Pokémon will greatly improve your chance of success.
