Features

Gigantamax Grimmsnarl makes its global Pokémon GO debut during Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global!

Your Pokémon GO Wild Area adventure just got a whole lot bigger. Gigantamax Grimmsnarl* will make its global Pokémon GO debut during Pokémon GO Wild Area: Global! You can team up with fellow Trainers and take on this mischievous Pokémon in six-star Max Battles, appearing during both event days.

Trainers will have a chance to learn more about Gigantamax Grimmsnarl in the event-exclusive Special Research story—complete this for an encounter with Gigantamax Grimmsnarl!

Grimmsnarl makes its Pokémon GO debut!

Ready for a little mischief? This year’s GO Wild Area event will feature the global Pokémon GO debuts of Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl!

On both event days, Impidimp, the Wily Pokémon, will appear in the wild and hatch from 5 km Eggs!

You can use 25 Impidimp Candy to evolve Impidimp into Morgrem and 100 Impidimp Candy to evolve Morgrem into Grimmsnarl.

Rescue Shadow Darkrai from Team GO Rocket!

They’re at it again! Team GO Rocket is venturing into the GO Wild Area this year, and they’ve brought Shadow Darkrai with them for the first time in Pokémon GO!

Bewear wearing a wilderness cape debuts!

Trainers will be able to encounter Bewear wearing a wilderness cape in 3-star raid battles.

Introducing mighty Pokémon!

Trainers may also find themselves in encounters with unusually powerful opponents known as mighty Pokémon! All mighty Pokémon have some shared traits:

  • More likely to have high Attack, Defense, and HP ratings
  • More likely to be XL or XXL
  • More difficult to capture
  • Encounters will show “!!!” instead of CP

Trainers may even encounter Shiny versions of these mighty Pokémon, if they’re lucky! Using the event-exclusive GO Safari Ball when trying to capture these Pokémon will greatly improve your chance of success.

Different mighty Pokémon will have a chance to appear on each day. Mighty Pokémon are mighty rare, so make sure you have your GO Safari Balls ready—you never know when one might appear!

Mighty Pokémon Boost

At the end of each day, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. local time, Mighty Pokémon will appear more frequently in the wild for a brief 15-minute window. Be sure to make the most of this opportunity to use any remaining GO Safari Balls on Sunday!

They will expire on Sunday, November 16, at 6:00 p.m. local time.
