Bonuses

Seasonal Bonuses

During this season, the following bonuses will be active.

Guaranteed Rare Candy XL from five-star Raid Boss during Raid Hour (Level 31+)

Guaranteed Candy XL when trading Pokémon (Level 31+)

One additional Candy when trading Pokémon

Increased XP for seven-day PokéStop spin streak

Increased XP and Stardust for seven-day Pokémon catch streak

Increased XP from going up a Friendship level

Friendship XP

Friendship XP has been multiplied by 1.5x for this season. The base Friendship XP for this season is as follows:

Good Friends - 4,500 XP
Great Friends - 15,000 XP
Ultra Friends - 75,000 XP
Best Friends - 150,000 XP

Using a Lucky Egg would double these values.

Features

Tales of Resolution!

Behold Keldeo in its Resolute Form! For the first time in Pokémon GO, Keldeo will be able to transform into its Resolute Form after a season-long journey at your side! Encounter Keldeo as you begin your adventure along a new seasonal Special Research!

Trainers who have already caught Keldeo can continue their journey with it and receive Keldeo Candy that they can use to power up.

The Tales of Transformation Special Research will be available to claim from Tuesday, September 2, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 9:59 a.m. local time.

New parts of the Special Research will unlock over the course of the Season, so make sure to keep an eye on your research tab!

Tales of Mega Evolution!

Behold the Mega debuts of Sharpedo, Camerupt, and Metagross in Pokémon GO! Challenge them on Mega Raid Days throughout the season, and bear witness to the transformative power of Mega Evolution!

Tales of Evolution!

Behold the power of Evolution, and see how Pokémon transform as Dipplin, Hydrapple, and more make their Pokémon GO debuts throughout the season!

Tales of Battle!

Behold the emergence of new Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon in Pokémon GO! Challenge and catch Gigantamax Garbodor, Dynamax Duraludon, and more this season!

Also, beware of heightened Team GO Rocket activity! Shadow Groudon will make an earthshaking debut in Shadow Raids during Tales of Transformation, and more Shadow Pokémon are sure to accompany Giovanni’s return this season.

GO Pass

GO Pass, a limited-time progression track, will be available during Tales of Transformation! Complete Pass Tasks to earn GO Points to increase your rank and earn rewards.

The GO Pass Deluxe, a paid version of GO Pass, will be available for Trainers looking for upgraded rewards and faster progression.

Prepare for Pokémon GO’s new and rewarding leveling journey!

Pokémon GO’s leveling up journey is being rebalanced to add more to the experience! On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, Pokémon GO will release an update that increases the level cap from 50 to 80. This update will make the leveling journey more fun and engaging by celebrating leveling milestones with new rewards, new cosmetics, and more. And with this update, a number of players can expect to jump in level based on their total earned XP, but don’t worry, no player will go down in level!

From August 25 at 1:00 p.m. PDT until October 14, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. local time, all Trainers will get the following bonuses. These bonuses will stack with other event bonuses!

2× Catch XP from Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws
+3,000 XP from winning raids
+3,000 XP from winning Max Battles

Additionally, Timed Research will be available to all Trainers who are level 5 and above. This research will give Trainers the chance to earn over 7 million XP!

Weekly Challenges

This Season, a new way to connect and earn rewards is coming: weekly challenges! This social feature allows you to team up with up to three other Trainers to take on a group challenge each week. Complete the challenge to earn rewards and XP while growing your Friendship level. You can start a group with Trainers on your Friend List, no matter where they are, or get matched with other Trainers from around the world as a new way to discover friends. Keep an eye out for a new tab next to your profile page!

GO Battle League

The GO Battle League returns as part of Tales of Transformation! Get your Pokémon ready to battle in competitions such as the Summer Cup, Fantasy Cup, Jungle Cup, and more!

Research Breakthrough

Complete Field Research to unlock Research Breakthrough encounters with one of the following Pokémon.

Field Research tasks awarding Mega energy for different Pokémon will be available each month. Throughout the season, certain Field Research tasks will award Diancie Mega energy.

Be on the lookout for PokéStop Showcases throughout Pokémon GO: Tales of Transformation. Log in to find out which Pokémon you can show off!
