Mega Rayquaza Special Raid Event

Due to issues affecting Elite Raids featuring Mega Rayquaza, a special global makeup event will be held for all Trainers on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

These will not be Elite raids and Trainers will be able to use Remote Raid Passes to battle Mega Rayquaza.

Mega Rayquaza will appear more frequently in Legendary Mega Raids at the following times!

The Remote Raid Pass limit will increase to 20 from Friday, August 2, at 5:00 p.m. to Saturday, August 3, 2024, to 8:00 p.m. PDT.

Mega Rayquaza will make its return in Legendary Mega Raids!

All Gyms are eligible to host Mega Rayquaza. There will be a 25 minute timer and 5 minute cooldown, meaning each Gym should have two raids per scheduled hour.

Free Timed Research will be available to Trainers during the event! Complete the research tasks to earn a Meteorite.

Unlike other Mega-Evolving Pokémon, Rayquaza can’t Mega Evolve with Mega Energy alone. Trainers hoping to Mega Evolve their Rayquaza will need to teach it the Charged Attack Dragon Ascent first!

Dragon Ascent can only be learned by using Meteorites.
