How Party Play Works

Party Play lets four total Trainers—level 15 and above—adventure as a party together. You’ll even get to see your friends’ avatars on your in-game map! Whether you’re looking to represent your team, take on new challenges, or capture memories while catching Pokémon, Party Play makes it possible.

How to Host a Party

  1. Open Pokémon GO and navigate to your Trainer profile.
  2. Tap the new Party tab.
  3. Tap Create.
  4. You’ll be given a numerical code or QR code that you can share with up to three nearby Trainers.
  5. Tap Start and let the party begin!

Party Share

Party Share enables Trainers to share Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces with members of their party. Sharing an item divides the duration of that item’s effects in half. For example, an Incense with a 60 minute duration would be divided into 30 minutes for each player, regardless of how many Trainers are in the party.

Trainers can use Party Share to share their items up to four times per day for each type of item. There is no daily limit to how many times a Trainer can benefit from items shared with them by other party members.

The effects from items shared with Party Share can’t be combined with other Trainer Boost effects such as those from Daily Adventure Incense, the Coin Bag, or the Mystery Box. But if an item’s duration is extended by an event bonus, like increased Incense duration during Community Days, that bonus does apply to Party Share!
