Welcome Party Special Research
All Trainers level 15 and above get this Special Research to earn t-shirt avatar items featuring Eevee, Vaporeon, Jolteon, and Flareon.
How Party Play Works
Party Play lets four total Trainers—level 15 and above—adventure as a party together. You’ll even get to see your friends’ avatars on your in-game map! Whether you’re looking to represent your team, take on new challenges, or capture memories while catching Pokémon, Party Play makes it possible.
How to Host a Party
- Open Pokémon GO and navigate to your Trainer profile.
- Tap the new Party tab.
- Tap Create.
- You’ll be given a numerical code or QR code that you can share with up to three nearby Trainers.
- Tap Start and let the party begin!
Join a Party
- Open Pokémon GO and navigate to your Trainer profile.
- Tap the new Party tab.
- Tap Join Party. You will be prompted to either scan the host’s QR code or manually enter a numerical code.
- Wait for the host to start the party! Once the party begins, you’ll be returned to the map.
Party Features
Party Challenges
- Work to complete Party Challenges as you play together!
- After a party is formed, the party will receive a pop-up asking which Party Challenge they want to take on.
- Party Challenges can be focused on spinning PokéStops, battling in raids, catching Pokémon, and more.
- Completing Party Challenges get you in-game rewards!
Party Power
- When challenging a raid with your party, a new bonus will be available: Party Power.
- Party Power doubles the damage of your next Charged Attack and charges with every Fast Attack.
- More party members means your Party Power charges faster!
Activity Summary
- You can check your party’s progress and details via the Party tab of your Trainer profile.
- Your party’s Activity Summary has the following categories: Pokémon, Throws, Adventure, Battle, and General.
- Bookmark your favorite activities to quickly view them via the Favorite section of your Activity Summary.
Party Share
Party Share enables Trainers to share Incense, Lucky Eggs, and Star Pieces with members of their party. Sharing an item divides the duration of that item’s effects in half. For example, an Incense with a 60 minute duration would be divided into 30 minutes for each player, regardless of how many Trainers are in the party.
Trainers can use Party Share to share their items up to four times per day for each type of item. There is no daily limit to how many times a Trainer can benefit from items shared with them by other party members.
The effects from items shared with Party Share can’t be combined with other Trainer Boost effects such as those from Daily Adventure Incense, the Coin Bag, or the Mystery Box. But if an item’s duration is extended by an event bonus, like increased Incense duration during Community Days, that bonus does apply to Party Share!
Additional Information
A Party Session is currently limited to 3 hours but you can start a new Party after it ends.
